What & Why Hakuba Iwatake Mountain Resort…

Through the collaboration with this all-year-round resort located in the pristine mountains of Hakuba, our base camp will be within a stroll distance of tour activities.

After arrival, there will be no need to move our camping cars till the last day.  Also as most meals are include and the schedule includes family time, as well as, kids & parents individual time, all members will have a chance to relax & enjoy the pristine environment.

There will be plenty of opportunities to make lasting family memories; however, we are certain that the evening gondola ride to star-gaze on top of Hakuba might be a favorite.

* Kids under 8 years old will not be able to participate; but a babysitter and age appropriate activities will be prepared. ** Saturday after dinner, we have prepared a special experience.  The main gondola of the resort will be started up just for us. We will be able to enjoy the top of Hakuba at our leisure.  Sounds of nature at night, stargazing, etc. will provide us with lasting memories.

Morning & Afternoon: Iwatake Trekking 

After a relaxed morning breakfast, we will board the gondola located next to the base camp and head to the top of Hakuba Iwatake Mountain Resort.  Pets are allowed on the gondola, so we will be able to bring our furry family with us. 

Our day will include a guided hike through “Nazuko no Mori,” swinging on Japan’s highest swing and enjoying the stunning Hakuba mountains panorama & a thrilling mountain bike decent back to base camp. 

The day event schedule will be quite full, but for those that want more, there will be plenty of options available!!!

Evening: Onsen & Hakuba Brew Pub

With the second day adventure behind us, we will head to the local onsen and get the trekking dust off before the evening starts.

For dinner we will be treated at the Hakuba Brew Pub were a relaxed atmosphere, good food and drinks will allow us to relive the days adventures.

For those arriving on this day, dinner and drinks will be ready for you after your finish setting up camp.

Morning: Family Rafting on Himekawa River

After enjoying a simple catered breakfast at our campsite, we will be picked up by the rafting bus and head for the starting point of our morning adventure. 

With the snow from the mountains melted, the Himekawa River will treat us with perfect family adventure where experienced guides from Hakuba EX Adventure will be our guides.

The tour will have a bit of whitewater to get the heart pumping, a bit of relaxing in the sun and a chance to test your fear of heights with a daring jump off a cliff!!!

Afternoon: Split Agenda for Kids & Adults

Kids Agenda: 

After a bit of a break, the kids are off to burn some more energy and learn a few more tricks about enjoying nature with Hakuba EX Adventure.

Adults: (Option A)

A shuttle bus will pick up those who want to explore Hakuba’s small, but unique shopping area.  Several brand stores with majestic Hakuba Views will be accessible.  Among others, Snow Peak Land Station, designed by the famous architect, Kengo Kuma will surely be a highlight.

Afterwards a soak in the Happo Onsen will wrap up the town excursion.

Adults: (Option B):

For those needing to make a few phone calls and check e-mails, the afternoon will be at your disposal while the family is enjoying Hakuba’s best.  If you decide to wrap up early, a pint with some new friends will be an option.

Evening: An Evening to Remember

Dinner: (Kids Program)  

Kids will enjoy a dinner catered to their tastes followed by campfire and an outdoor movie.

Dinner: (Adults Program)

For the adults, Shouya Maruhachi Dining will be the venue where we will enjoy fresh seafood, seasonal vegetables and meats.  The establishment is located on the ancient “Salt Road,” a 120km long historic highway connecting the castle town, Matsumoto and Itoigawa located on the Japan Sea Coast.

After Dinner: (Stargazing on Top of Hakuba)

After dinner, the Resort will start up the Gondola just for us.  We will be carried up to the top of Hakuba for some star-gazing.  This tour-only participants event will be one to remember.

Day 3: Sunday Itinerary

Morning: Adventure in the Trees & Pack-Up

While the parents are packing up and getting ready for the late morning departure, the kids will be playing in the trees at EX Adventures.  With courses and difficulty levels matching all age groups, the high-rope thill will surely be a favorite. 

While the kids are enjoying the morning, the adults will also have some time to enjoy the morning and also to pack up for the departure. 

After swinging by to pick up the kids; we will start to head down the mountain towards the town of Azumi.

Afternoon: Words Largest Wasabi Farm & Go-Cart Championships

Nearby from the Azumi IC is the worlds largest wasabi farm . We will grab a late lunch and a stroll among the beautiful views and water ways.  There will also be a chance to enjoy some wasabi flavored soft cream. It’s tastier than you may think!!!

For our final event, we will stop at the Azumi F-1 Park for a Go-Cart Championship to determine the fastest kid on the tour.  With go-carts designed for all ages and excellent instructors, the kids will grow comfortable after a few laps. 

Then it is of to the races with kids champagne & event, a podium celebration & pizza dinner!!!
